How we rate
A comparison is only worth as much as the standards behind it. So we lay ours open: this page explains which criteria we rate against, what our assessments rest on and how often we review them.
zemramatch looks at every app from a single perspective: is it suited to people looking for a committed relationship? Every weighting follows from that goal.
The eight criteria
Every app is rated against the same eight criteria. Together they cover what decides, in practice, whether a match turns into a relationship.
- Seriousness
- Are people there for a relationship or for something casual? For us the most important criterion: the intent of the user base shapes every conversation, long before features matter.
- Fair pricing
- A fair free model without paywall traps. What matters is whether essentials, like seeing who likes you, work without a subscription, or whether the app earns from your waiting instead of your finding.
- Gender balance
- A balanced ratio of women and men. Strong imbalances create frustration on both sides and distort the whole culture of contact.
- Albanian fit
- How well the app fits the Albanian community and diaspora: language, cultural understanding and the chance to meet people with a similar background.
- Verification
- Does the app check that profiles are real? For a committed search this criterion carries particular weight with us: people who mean it lose the most time and trust to fake profiles.
- Usability
- How clear and pleasant the app feels in everyday use, from setting up a profile to chatting.
- Privacy
- How sparingly and respectfully the app handles personal data. Anyone who opens up on a dating app entrusts it with very private things.
- Reach
- The size of the user pool. Important, but deliberately not a top criterion for us: a huge pool without matching intentions rarely leads anywhere.
The 1 to 5 scale
Each criterion is rated from 1 (weak) to 5 (strong). An app's overall score is the plain average of all eight criteria, with no hidden math.
Our recommendations add judgement on top: for a committed search, seriousness, authenticity of profiles and fairness of the model weigh heaviest in our verdicts. That is why an app with huge reach can end up behind a smaller one whose users want the same thing you do.
What our ratings rest on
We use the apps ourselves, over longer periods and in several roles. We check prices and features directly in the apps and against the providers' official information.
We also read public reviews to hold our own impression against the experience of many users. None of this is a laboratory procedure; it is a careful, traceable assessment whose standards are laid open here.
How often we update
We review the ratings regularly and update them whenever app features, prices or verification methods change. The visible date on the comparison page shows when we last checked.
Independence
No provider can buy a placement or a better rating. Providers may compensate us for outbound links; this has no influence on our ratings.
Mistakes and corrections
Even careful assessments can contain mistakes. If something is outdated or wrong, we correct it as soon as we learn of it. A dedicated contact channel for feedback is being set up; until then, everything we notice ourselves flows into the next review.
